About the Artist: Bill Koons is a professional painter and founder of the Critical Mass Art Studio.  In 1996 he began teaching himself how to do life castings after viewing an exhibit in Austin , Texas .  By trial and error, he developed his own technique of using wax to mold body parts. ALI provided invaluable information on assembling pieces so that now he produces complete life size figures.  The sculpture of Elektra submitted is the latest example of his method. When not in the studio painting Bill Koons produces commissioned pieces and has given away many more to friends.  Pieces have been exhibited at Rising Sun Gallery, Smithville , Texas and the Museum of Fine Arts , Austin , Texas .
