Topic Subject : Re: Mum and baby clasped hand cast |
|
That is pretty much normal for a 14 month old. When I have clients call me that want to do the same thing, I ask them if they think their child will hold still for 2-3 minutes and if they say no, then I try to suggest something else because you could do this over and over and get the same results which is kind of frustrating.
Unless the baby is sleeping, which for a 14 month old probably won't happen either especially if they are going to your location.
The best age to do this kind of casting is when the baby is new born and up to 3 months old, after that even 6 month old might give you problems.
So it depends on their personality, I have done this with 1 year, 2 year olds but they where not the active and wiggly type. My son was this type when he was little and I had to take his castings when he was in a deep sleep at night in his crib.
I would suggest doing separate castings mounted separately perhaps beside each other, that is if the little guy will let you take a casting at all.
Having said all of that, there are ways that you can distract babies to a point, funny faces and noises and just plain making a fool of yourself. toys and devices they have never seen before etc.
But again some babies just won't buy that either.
I hope that helps a little.
Good luck!
