Topic Subject : Re: How to avoid Dimples in alginate?

Ray, sorry to hear about your dimple problem. In my experience, dimples are not caused by the alginate but from the supporting layer. If you push in on just the alginate, it will return to its proper shape. However, you push in on plaster just as it is setting up, it will probably create a dimple. One of reasons that I promote cheese cloth and fast setting plaster besides being faster and saving money is, if done properly, you should not get dimples since no plessure is applied to the supporting layer. I get no dimples nor distortion whatsoever even of soft tissue such as breasts. Pleas call me at my studio in Denver at (303) 321-1074 since I would much rather talk than type. I can If no answer, leave a number and I will get back to you quickly. I am confident that we can solve your problem. Dave Parvin
