Goodmorning all ALI members...New years eve here in New Zealand
Thought we would throw in our 2 cents worth regarding dimples...
In the early days we would get a few dimples...we found three causes...
Finger dimples or impressions left from outer shell...
Alginate was applied to thinly...normally caused by making the mixture too runny...
Solution...reduce water...
Dimples, was caused by not mixing the alginate well enough...we would cut into the alginate and find hard lumps of unmixed alginate.....to do full torsos and mix in time...
Solution...mix with a jiffy mixer...
Last but not least...if you do not pour into alginate straight after removing from model...lumps will appear in mould as it sets..particularily on a hot day...
Solution pour straight away...
