Please find attached a pdf three page announcement for the Arkansas American Legion National Monument. This monument was dedicated earlier this year and the surrounding plaza was completed a few months ago.
The heads and hands of both servicemen were lifecast here in the Vegas area utilizing military volunteers. Life-rite was the casting medium used for all body casting. The servicemen depict early WWII uniforms as specified by the client.
Approximately 650 parts and components make up the two servicement from conception, casting, clay fabrication, mold parts, waxes and bronze pieces. Part of the bronze fabrication is depicted on page three of the pdf.
The monument and one of the models, a decorated captain, have been documented by several national publications and CNN nationwide on Lou Dobbs American Heros. This monument is also in the process of being archived by The Smithsonian and should be available for viewing on their website within a few weeks.
