Good bearing material too. I used to make bronze bushings ( bearings ) out of the stuff in another life. Yeah, yeah, I know Dan, it's about life casting.

Along with Ed's materials on Artmolds.com look at Silicones Incorporated.
Also it's silicone not Silicon, which is a tetravalent metalloid used in and
with various components, semiconductors, etc. Silicon is on the periodic table
as Si and has an atomic # 14. Silicon is a component of silicones, which are
a family of plastics which includes silicone rubber mold compounds. Included
as an alloy in the chemical of Silicon Bronze, one of the bronze alloys used
in casting of "bronze sculpture," easily Tig welded, resists corrosion, etc.
Not as easy to patina as Tin bronze but much cleaner to melt and cast.
