Topic Subject : RE: algislo

Algislo is not instantaneous. It requires 20-30 seconds to redisolve the
surface of alginate that has already set-up. Best results are achieved
before it sets as it will delay the surface from setting to give you more
time to lay in the fiber or cotton. The longer the alginate surface has set

the longer you must wait until the chemical reaction takes place to dissolve
it again.

algislo:--
I have just tried using algislo for the first time in order to bond the
cotton batten to the alginate. I have tried it on the last three torso
castings and have had no luck what so ever. After spraying a very liberal
amount on the alginate just as it set up I found that there was no change in
the surface of the alginate. It was not soft or tacky at all and I was not
able to bond the cotton. Has anyone else had a problem. I have shaken the
container well before use. So far I am quite disappointed.
