Topic Subject : Help! Tried clothing for the first time! |
|
Can anybody out there help me? I am opening a showroom for the first time and was trying to make some samples with clothing on. I've only done nudes up until now. I don't think I could have screwed it up any worse! What do I do so that I can remove the clothing from the alginate afterwards? I soaked the clothing in baby oil - WRONG THING TO DO! Couldn't remove it afterwards. Besides, the alginate was so heavy it came away from the body and even if I could have seen it through to completion, it would have looked horrible. Any tips on what to soak the clothing in so I can remove it without destoying the alginate afterwards? Also, is the pulling away from the body thing just because the material was too thin or not tight enough? Any tips I can get from the more experienced lifecasters out there would be very helpful. I have two casts coming up next week that are clothing and commissioned and I want to get it right on a model first before I subject a client to any more of my mistakes. Would any of the products from Artmolds work on the fabric?
Thanks very much, appreciate any tips you might have,
Angela
