Use corn oil. Baby oil and Olive oil don't seem to work well.

Paint it on with a paint brush. You'll have to cut the clothes off from the
model though for best results. Then carefully pull out the clothes from the
alginate mold. You might want to use FiberGel to prevent ripping of the
alginate. Dave Parvin has a wonderful DVD called Casting the Female Torso in
which he creates a beautiful mold and casting of a clothed ballerina.

You can find it under 'videos' at www.artmolds.com

Help! Tried clothing for the first time!:--
Can anybody out there help me? I am opening a showroom for the first time
and was trying to make some samples with clothing on. I've only done nudes
up until now. I don't think I could have screwed it up any worse! What do I
do so that I can remove the clothing from the alginate afterwards? I soaked
the clothing in baby oil - WRONG THING TO DO! Couldn't remove it afterwards.
Besides, the alginate was so heavy it came away from the body and even if I
could have seen it through to completion, it would have looked horrible. Any
tips on what to soak the clothing in so I can remove it without destoying
the alginate afterwards? Also, is the pulling away from the body thing just
because the material was too thin or not tight enough? Any tips I can get
from the more experienced lifecasters out there would be very helpful. I
have two casts coming up next week that are clothing and commissioned and I
want to get it right on a model first before I subject a client to any more
of my mis!
takes. Would any of the products from Artmolds work on the fabric?

Thanks very much, appreciate any tips you might have
