Topic Subject : Re: Assistant, Necessary Or Not?

Some further thoughts:

1) There is the wonderful saying "We never doubted you until you doubted
yourself", insisting too much may give the wrong message/signals.
Dan's advice of allowing a model to be accompanied, or not, as _they_ wish is
a positive solution, that throws the onus on them.

2) Whether the following is for or against an 'assistant' is debatable (i.e.
many perhaps would rather avoid 'all this'), but:
Some who want images (certainly including sculptures/mouldings) making of
their bodies do so (in part at least) because they have a 'body image'
problem. Having an image made of their body is therapeutic (e.g. the
photographic works of Dr Noël Pelerin (a medical practitioner, e.g.
http://www.lexpress.mu/display_article.php?news_id=18396) or the work of
Pierre Joël BECKER (described at http://www.photographie-therapie.com)).
Too large a 'team' may inhibit that positive effect and may inhibit the
profound reflections that the model may wish to voice during/ immediately
after casting.
Whether we should be 'counsellors' is, I know, a good point, but if you
follow the arguments of those named above, then perhaps we are, whether we
like it or not.
