Topic Subject : RE: Is The Comp Back On?

I have only seen 5 responses for those that might be interested in the
competition. So it looks like I will be commissioning the apathy awards.

This year it was our plan to reach outside ALI for judges that could add
further prestige as well as press opportunity. After all the reason that you
joined ALI was to promote life casting. That is the premise of the
organization - remember?

I do recognize that the 80/20 rule operates in all organizations. That is 20
percent of the members make 80% of the contributions. In this case 5
interested people out of 475 members are about 1-percent.

The competition is not all about YOU. It is about ALI and our need to
promote life casting awareness. Such a competition properly promoted will
reach publications worldwide.

It is easy to be LAZY. Yet, many of you triumphantly and proudly post your
work here on the forum for all of us to see so there is no a lack of
potential entry pieces, just a lack of will. There will be three winners

but every entry is a winner as every entry promotes life casting, the basic
reason for our organization.

We are not asking for money, nor volunteers of time, just the art that you
are proud to show just as you do on the forum.

I have had Bruner Barrie agree to be a guest judge. Bruner is a trustee of
the National Sculptor Society and will lend a great deal of credence to our
efforts. I will reach out for international guest judges once I am convinced
that the organization is deserving of a competition.

At present it is not.

Is The Comp Back On?:--
Ok.. I'm lost in emails here. Are we back on for the lifecasting
competition? I know Ed? needed at least 10 folks to be interested to do it
again. Are we back on or do we have to wait till next year??

Jennifer
