Ed,
Could you send out e-mails to all members requesting intent to submit (kind of an RSVP) prior to the deadline for submissions? By prior I mean with enough time to notify everyone if there is enough enterest to warrant a competition. As one of the few who submitted work for the last competition, I know it would have helped my stress level to not have been working to complete something before an nonexistent deadline.
I appreciate the work done by the organizers of ALI and will continue my support in any way I can. This site provides a valuable service to members by generating public awareness for the art of lifecasting and a referral service for potential clients. I know that simply having a link to my website on the ALI directory has generated thousands (that's right) of dollars of revenue for my studio in the past couple of years. AND I am getting repeat business from those initial referrals all because this site gives potential clients one place to look for a lifecasting artist. AND it doesn't cost to be an ALI member (maybe it should?).
Anyway....count me in Ed. I like to share my work with anyone who will look at it, competition or not.
