Thanks very much for the reply, and apologies for my delay in replying back.
I've been wanting to experiment with glazes on ceramic faces ever since I was
inspired by a teapot with a gorgeous green glaze in an asian restaurant a
few months ago. I'm very impressed with the quality of your casting, after
hearing nothing but concerns and problems with clay molding.
I have a silicone mold all ready to go for this experiment (photo attached of
a cold-cast bronze from the mold). There must be some tricks to pressing the
clay in -- especially to 1" thick -- without deforming the thin features of
the rubber mold? Would you please share some details about the type and
consistency of your clay, and any relevant technique? Thanks!
Doug
