Topic Subject : Re: Lesson Learned

I mostly use plaster-of-paris (POP) bandages without problems.

I have even got a first cast without release agent (but don't advise it!), thereafter the skin's natural oil has gone and you need something. Massage oil (or vegetable oil) seems fine for most. Someone here suggested Nivea (especially for hair: eyebrows, pubic hair --and it does seem different for that).

Some models do have a very fine hair that is not immediately visible. Not a racial variation as such, it actually is tied to 'nationalities' within (various) racial groups -it is fairly obvious though as the visible hair is usually more profuse. Some models say cream hurts less than oil, but its all a bit subjective. For most models there is no problem with any release agent.

Petroleum jelly ought to be petoleum jelly! Certainly (this goes back a few years), in the U.K., even the cheapest was always "B.P.", i.e. complied with the Pharmacopoeial standard.

An "understanding model" is, of course, a big help . . .

K.
