Topic Subject : Re: Faux Finishes? |
|
i made a 3 metre faux bronxe sculpture once....
this was made entirely from fibre glass and then we
mixed bronze powder with gel coat and sprayed the
thing several times.....
when it had cured we washed it with acetone to remove
the top layer of resin exposing the powder particles
underneath.....
we then used cold patination to colour it ........
we use actual bronze patina products here so the
effect is in fact real bronze finish....
just a bit of resin to hold it all together...the work
cost a quarter of a real bronze and weighed far
less....as you can imagine...
i imagine you can spray resin bronze mix into
mold...several coats.....fibreglass back fill it for
structure and then once popped from the mold you can
patina it.....cool.
let me know how it goes....
