Topic Subject : Crumbly alginate |
|
Hi all, am having a problem with my alginate going crumbly shortly after it sets (I use it for baby hands and feet). Not sure if it's due to the warm weather we've been having recently or whether I'm using water that's too warm. I tend to use it luke warm otherwise the babies complain but I'm finding that it's almost falling apart. Is it the water temp or my poor preservation of the mould afterwards? I usually get to cast them about 3 hours later and try to keep them in a cool bag in the meantime. I use chromatic alginate and haven't had any problems before.
Thanks in advance!
Catherine
