Topic Subject : Introducing Me |

Howdy!
Just wanted to drop a line and say hello! I've been lurking in the forums and admiring your works via the internet for the past couple of years, and thought it was time I stop being rude and introduce myself.
I first started looking into lifecasting a couple of years ago when my girlfriend was getting breast implants. I wanted both before and after castings of her chest. When I began to research the bodycasting process online, I stumbled across the works of Dan Spector and Dave Parvin, among others, and was absolutely dumbstruck. I had no idea that casting existed as an artform, and was amazed at the calibre of the work being done.
Since then, I've been mixing alginate and hydrocal in my bathroom. I haven't been doing it as often as I like, but that is changing. All of my peices have been examples of learning in progress, and most of them end up in the trash. Fortunately, thanks to all of you and your posts, and the tutorials available on artmolds.com, I improve with every cast.
Eventually, I'll take pictures of the few peices I have kept and post them online. Until, I'll just continue to think about it;)
Hi there,
