Topic Subject : Re: Re: Re: casting in clay questions

Hi Jesse
Look forward to your photo reference ,meanwhile if your refering to the girl
yes shes personal and was a three piece silicon and a five piece fibreglass
jacket .
I have done many sitting figures we had 35 figures to do for an Irish museum
in Bray we were casting two a day then passing on the castinging fibre glass
..However you might find it easier to mould the arms and the body as
seperates they can then be attached later I am guessing there are clothes
,this will at least make the casting easier in fibreglass ,I personal like
to cast them all in one although it can be the devil to do .The girl took me
2 hours and another 2 hours to clean up just in time to rush off to the
London makeup trade show ,while walking her through a door I managed to
snapoff a finger which I superglued back on covering the fracture with a
borrowed ring.
Edd was there and he seemed to like the piece .When you have more reference
perhaps I can pass more comment wishing you well with your job

Re: Re: Re: casting in clay questions:--
was that a personal piece...
very cool....
nice work wether it was or not..
am doing a full size life cast of an artist called
franko b at the moment..
problem is i have to make seven exact copies...
so am in the throws of making a rubber jacket mold of
his body which i have previously cast in plaster....
am now working off a fibreglass positive i assembled
from the pieces....
rubber looking good if not taking a while....
will cover in fibreglass external jacket and then
begin the mass production.....
any experience in this kind of thing....??
main difficulty is that he is in a seated position as
if at a table with his hands on the table....am making
the tables too.....
this creates a tricky binding in of parts under the
arms etc...
always looking for tips and tricks when working with
big projects like this...
will send some images when i get the chance..
cheers
