Lovely bust.
We do bronze and stainless steel metal casting. The cost between "cold"
casting and metal casting are very different. To do a cast metal sculpture like
yours will require some type of negative mold, we use silicone rubber, to
reproduce your piece in wax. then we build a refractory mold around the wax
positive, burn the wax out of the refractory mold. Melt metal and cast into the
refractory mold. Once the metal has cooled the refractory mold has to be removed
and the metal will then need to be descaled and finished with a patina
(color).
We don't do "cold" casting, but I'm sure someone on this site can give you
advice regarding that process. A mold will need to be made of your original.
The resin or epoxy will be tinted with color and metal power added to it. The
plastic is then brushed into the mold and cured. The mold is then striped
away from the plastic casting. The plastic can be patinaed much like a bronze
metal casting.
Because of costs involved with material and labor to create a metal casting
the "cold" casting will be much less expensive.
I'd be happy to discuss casting your piece in bronze if you are interested.
