Hey Bob
Do you consider your work professional or hobby? Sculpture or figurine? Does
the value of art have more to do with the material or process or concept or
all of these plus many more things? Is this a commission or? Are you doing
something that is so unique that it has intrinsic value beyond material or
process. Then there's some of the other stuff like is your work in galleries
museums, collections, etc. Do people who collect art know the name? And so many
other things. Is ,000.00 to much or is ,000.00 not enough?
If everything you produce is purchased by someone or some corporation, would
you be asking this question?
Do you make a living from your (art)? If you do, is it the money or the
passion that drives you?
For me, when I do a plaster, it's for some part of the process to get the
plaster to metal. So for me the plaster doesn't have much value for me but I've
had people buy the plaster casts because they want parts of the whole
process.
Thanks for giving me a moment to ramble.
Good luck with your economics and I look forward to the other responses.
