Topic Subject : Re: Urgent question about cold cast aluminium |
|
Hi C J. I have done them before and did find that mine dulled over time. It is exactly like the bronze. adding metal to the resin creates a chemical reaction that naturally patinates the metal. I don't think even jade oil that is good for metal would work with resin casts. I have always stayed clear of the aluminium since i found it loosing its life. The only thing I could suggest is plating it which would be cheaper.
Pitting with pewter? I made a few casts with it and got amazing results. Guess I was just lucky.
