Hey Fellow Casters!
Here's a note to say what a great weekend I just had at Ed McCormick's lifecasting workshop, and a lot more.
I've been casting for 13-14 years. I'm basically self-taught, so I thought it would be a good idea to attend a workshop, even after all these years, just to see how another artist works. Ed was a very gracious and insightful host to all who attended over the weekend, and I walked away with a lot of new found knowledge. I was very happy everything Ed shared as an artist, and I sincerely thank him for it. To that end itself, the time was well spent, but that is not why I write.
As artists, we tend "do what we know", and in the end we fail to look for anything new.
After casting for over a dozen years, I was shocked to learn of all the great NEW products that are on the market today that I had no idea existed and that I need! I don't want to make this sound like an ad for Ed's Artmolds, because even Ed says there are many places that supply our needs. What I am saying is that it pays to take the time to stop and look at everything that is available to us and to look beyond what we know. There are problems we all encounter as lifecasters, and Ed was happy to show me that there are so many new products out there to solve these problems. Products that not only answer my needs as an artist, but will also make my models happier in the end.
You owe it to yourself to stop and browse through Artmolds.com and check out all the world has to offer us.
All my best to you and all your future endevours.
