It looks like you patina'd the model himself. The underlying skin tone is
pretty accurate and the impression is perfect. Nice photography also.

martian landscape:--
hi all

been so busy of late so am very behind with posts/mails. Wanted to share
this...one of my latest experiments. It's an iron bottom which I've done
controlled corrosion on with acids to create the colourful patina. I've
never worked with iron before and I love it. The best part of it is that
it's magnetic so i've been using this rather firm male bottom as a
memo-board using fridge magnets and scraps of paper.

I really enjoy working with metals and chemicals but must admit i'm worried
about the long term health implications are of working with nasty chemicals
over years. Even though I use a good mask and gloves and eye protectors, I
am fairly sure that over the years i must be breathing in a tonne of crap.

I guess that's the price we have to pay for our art...even years of working
with benign things like plaster and clay can kill you in the end with nasty
conditons. Does anyone know what the average life expectancy for a
lifecaster is these days? ;o)

x ps I called it Martian landscape cos that's what it reminded me of with
those reddish orange tones and wonderful 'hills' :o)
