Topic Subject : New member needs help

Hi Everyone,

I live in Spain and have been asked to exhibite at a charity event and have to get together a number of torso casts by the 27th May.

I first started casting from life when I had a client ask me if I could cast him and his wife with his hands covering her breasts. It was a fast learnig curve as the gentleman was Greek and very hairy, I will leave you to imagine the screams....but he was happy with the end result.

I soon learnt and was soon doing a lot of couples holding hands. I then moved on to torsos.

My problem is I have only ever used the plaster bandage method, (could'nt afford alginate and could'nt get hold of it easily.)

I have ordered alginate from Tirante in England (sorry Artmolds) and ordered dvds from Artmolds but the dvds are not going to arrive in time. Some quick hints and tips on how to use alginate for torso casting would be very very useful. I also plan to do some hands and babys' hands, so any hints tips for that would be useful.

Many thanks in advance.
