This is my first posting on Lifecasters. I am a plaster foreman for a large plaster restoration company but I have no experience with life casting. When I'm making molds or casting pieces for a restoration project, most often I use commercial hemp for strength, but there are situations where I will use burlap. The weave for burlap bags is too tight to really be effective for casting, but the burlap found at Home Depot or Lowes has a looser weave which the plaster is able to penetrate. I look forward to doing some lifecasting and I appreciate everybody's insight!!
