Topic Subject : Re: casting with lead/low melting point alloys |
|
re last post . pressed submit not preview, i done a bit bit research and experimentation on silicones heat resistance , and found that it would take molten lead quite easily , starting with drip feeding as you would with wax , to small pours with molten lead , the effect is subtle and simple , each pour connects with the previous , yet leaves a line of connection , the spaces that are left add as much to the piece , more so than taking away from it , the softness and maleability of the lead make them delicate and less robust than standard metal castimg , but gives anyone the oppertunity to experiment with ideas ,, and if it doesnt work ,, melt it down and start again ,, you cant do that with plaster or resin,, more to come on larger pieces ,,,
