Topic Subject : Re: Model Rates |
|
Greetings! A few years ago, when I was creating several pieces for a show, I was paying an hour with a two hour minimum, half hour increments after that. I know that is somewhat high; photography models I have worked with outside of lifecasting are in the - range. For the , I expected the model to be completely ready for the session. This meant sending information on the process first, then a phone call or brief meeting in person to make sure we were clear on the process and expectations, including a discussion of poses. Preparation on the model's part involved several things. For example, elastic straps of any kind leave unwanted indentations in the skin that take time to work out, so no constrictive clothing two hours prior to the session was made clear. I would always have the model sign a release form prior to the session as well. On my side, I would have everything prepared well in advance, and could usually get 3-4 poses out of a two hour session. On the other hand, I have done a couple of pieces for models on an exchange basis. For a two hour session, I would create a copy of one of the pieces and give it to the model for payment. I also offered to split the profit from the sale of finished pieces in exchange for model time; no model took me up on that offer, however.
