Topic Subject : Joys of Life casting |
|
About two years ago, I did the life casting on the left with the detachable cloth which was done as an edition for my purposes. Just recently the model returned to my studio for a pregnancy casting which was for her. Both impressions were made with FiberGel by ArtMolds. With the first, I made a plaster positive in the alginate mold and then made a silicone rubber mold of the plaster so that I could make multiple copies in Forton MG with copper powder. The pregnancy casting is a one of a kind made of plain Forton MG in the alginate mold; the metallic look was achieved with two different shades of bronze paint.
It is especially rewarding to be able to capture someone in two different stages in her life.
