Jacqui, I have to admit that I have never tried to drill through slate and will have to believe Axel. I do agree that epoxy is probably a good way to go. However, if you would position the hands and feet on the slate the way you would like to attach them and then send the membership a photo here of exactly what you are trying to accomplish, I'm confident that you will get some additional suggestions.
