I have been experimenting with pewter as well recently and just wrote an article called "Parvin's Pewter Producing Primer" which should be coming out in the current issue of "Sculpture Journal" right about now. Because pewter has a relatively low melting temperature, it can easily and inexpensively be cast right in one's own home or studio.
