Topic Subject : ALI Action Against Copyright Infringements |
|
Dear Members,
I was notified about another image theft several months ago by another UK artist and through direct efforts and communication with her hosting company the site was shut down. To date we have been 100% effective in having copyright violations remedied.
Just let me know and I will put the influence of our 2000 member association behind the appropriate action to remove offending images.
In the meantime ALI has send a cease and desist notice as follows:
Dear Mr. Qolami:
Several members of the Association of Lifecasters International have brought to my attention that you are using their images and possibly other images from other artists to whom you do not have permission. This is a clear violation of the copyright act and an infringement which can be prosecuted and money judgments awarded against you.
Therefore, we direct you to cease and desist in the use of any images to which you have not obtained permission to use. You are directed to remove these images no later than Wednesday March 2nd.
Failure to do so will result in formal complaints to your hosting company, Justhost.com and your DNS registrar, PipeDNS.com. They will be compelled to take down your entire site for copyright infringement until the matter is remedied.
Sincerely
Ed McCormick
