Topic Subject : LIFE CASTING ARTIST CREATES UNDER WATER SCULPTURE GALLERY

Jason deCaires Taylor, a British artist has created an amazing underwater sculpture museum in Mexico which consists of 400 statues of real people.

The underwater installation forms a new artificial reef at Cancun and Isla Mujeres National Marine Park and will become home for a variety of creatures.

Jason deCaires Taylor says it demonstrates the interaction between art and environmental science and special materials were used to promote coral life.

The 36-year-old from Kent used "life casts" to create the erie figures in 'The Silent Evolution Underwater Art Museum' which sit 10m underwater… and will scare the life out of any unsuspecting divers.

Speaking of his work on his website Jason said: "The Cancun Marine Park is one of the most visited stretches of water in the world with over 750,000 visitors each year, placing immense pressure on its resources.

"The location of the sculptures will promote the recovery of the natural reefs, relieving pressure on them by drawing visitors away."
