Topic Subject : Re: Re: returned cheque payment.

I used to take cheques but have found most people now a days don't use them.
I also had a chq bounce which was odd since it was from a repeat client with her 3rd baby. I always take a deposit and in this case it was her deposit chq that bounced, hence I've had her castings sitting doing nothing with them since 2006, with no word or reply to my calls. I rarely take cheques anymore.

What I really wanted to relay was that I have had a pos machine since 2007. The $ is deposited into my bank account. It has worked great with no problems with payments, the payment processing company visa, master card , interac are also on my side as well as the consumer. So I don't see anyone trying to get their money back since they would have to return the product back to me first.
I pay under 0 a month, I only had to add a little on my prices, it has proved to be worth it.

To go along with this is a very important note.

DO NOT sign any kind of contract that makes you be committed to any payment processing company's , or leasing companies (for the machine) for any length of time.

I recently got many phone calls from a company trying to get me to sign up with them. They promised to give me better rates than what I am paying now and they called for weeks at least 6 times a day. I almost signed the contract but read it and the fine print
It said that is was an non-cancellable contract for 5 years and seeing it closer I would have been paying twice as much as what I am paying now.

In other words the sales team calls and calls and tells you a ton of lies on the phone and if you are sucked in and sign it, nothing they told you on the phone is true but also does not matter unless you record the conversations, the contract is signed and your chained to this unbelievable terrible company for 5 YEARS! (that’s longer than most marriages). . I know someone that signed up with these companies and they have had to change their bank accounts, get a lawyer , send everything back at their expense and will probably get bad credit for a few years. They said they would prefer the bad credit over the 5 year contact.

I will gladly give you the company names, they all have a bad comments about them when you Google them.

Pivotal Payments
Tangerine Payments
Elavon
Do not go with these companies.

If you do want to go with a payment processing company go through a good standing bank, and shop around.

I did have to sign some documents but it was totally reasonable. I rent their machine and they update it and replace it at no cost to me. I have had no problems with them.

So if your thinking of getting this kind of pos I think it’s a good idea, just beware and read every word of the contracts before you sign.
