To avoid this from happening in the future, you can try switching to distilled water to mix into the plaster. Doing so should completely resolve the mold problem. You can also remove the little spots of mold on the cast by spot cleaning them with a spritz of water/chlorene bleach mixture. I use a very dilute mixture of about 5 parts water to 1 part bleach. It does the trick for me.
