Topic Subject : Lifecast a deceased loved one

Hi everyone,

I would like information on lifecasting a deceased person. I know that to some extent alginate works with the person's body heat. Should I consider using a skin-safe silicone instead. Also, has anyone had direct experience with this? It the lifecast done before or after embalming? I know there was some discuss about lifecasting a infant who had passed some time ago, but I haven't found an easy way to search existing topics.

I also would like to know if the lifecasting is usually done with the individuals hands crossed in front of them as is customary when they are laid out or can other positions be explored?

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Anthony.
