Topic Subject : Finished fingers - snapped |

Wondering if anyone could please help me. A freind has come to me with her beloved babys hands and feet that were done by a franchise a couple of years ago and they fell off her frame and one thumb broke off, they are spray painted silver. She now lives hours away from the company that did them - so its not so easy to get them to repair.
Ive told her i will try and fix them if i can, but wanted to run it past you guys first.
1) i have no idea what type of plaster they used it is a clean break though and she cant find the broken bit
2) Can i place finished cast ie painted etc in water and fix like normal with the chance it may be a different type of plaster, then will all the moisture i put into the cast come out of the new thumb area???? And prime and paint like normal???
Also has anyone else experienced not getting ALI FORUM emails anymore??? For some reason i no longer get them direct to my email box and have to log in to view - if anyone can help me why this is would be great as i miss all the wonderful info.
Thanks
Ali
