Topic Subject : Mounting on a base |
|
I hope this has not already been covered, but advice would be very welcome please.
I make ceramic torsos to hang on the wall, but a friend has asked me to make her a free standing one. I normally build clay loops into the backs to thread wire through. I was thinking that I need to build a straight clay tube into the back (possibly inserting a cane or dowel to burn out in the kiln). I then think I glue in a metal rod (not sure how thick) to support the work.
I then need a stone/wood base to attach the rod to. I live in the UK, so does anyone know of any good suppliers please?
Hope this isn't to muddled to follow.
Many thanks
Lit
