Topic Subject : Re: pricing |
|
My pricing is determined by perception--if you price it cheap--then people with consider it cheap. I am not saying to try and retire on a single work, but if it has the attraction and depth to it, then price it so people will have the perception that it is well worth the price they pay for it.
You can go to a flea market and see a painting that could be VanGogh and because it is priced for a few bucks, you consider it cheap. Go to a museum and see the same piece and it is priced worth millions. Now you consider it invaluable.
Use the same attitude with your work. Be proud of what you do. Consider the time and material you used, the involvement mentally and emotionally, these all play into pricing a piece.
A workman is worth of his hire!!!
