Topic Subject : Forton MG

Hello all...

Haven't been able to create much lately, but have been toying with the idea of using Forton MG for my castings. I have only used hydrocal or a higher grade plaster in the past, and it seems like all the things I read about FMG make it seem like alot of measuring/mixing/ etc. (I am a simple person, plaster and just add water is about as technical as I have gotten!!) I have no experience with resins, fiberglass, and the like. Would like to make my pieces ALOT lighter and more durable than they are now, and this seemed the best way to go. Looking for input on what other artists here think of FMG, and if I am making it seem too difficult in my head, maybe it's easier than it first sounds. Any input/advice/links would be helpful. If you have a step by step guide, even better! Looking to do a larger project that would involve the upper torso (neck to waist) of 4-5 people. How much do I use? Again, really just a beginner, so to speak, and primarily self taught. Any input is good!

Thanks!
Ben :)
