Lidia, the statue you saw in my studio that looked like marble was made of bronze. It was the same statue that is in the attached photo except that the patina looked like granite instead of being black. I made a life cast of a model in eight parts. I painted melted clay into the alginate molds and backed the clay with expandable urethane foam. I combined the eight pieces and re-sculpted as necessary. I then made a mold of the piece in silicone rubber which allow the waxes to be made so that the statues could be cast by lost wax.
