Topic Subject : Re: Re: Handshake life cast |

Ok, sorry I am new at this!!!
Well I built a box and sealed it and cut two holes at either side so the hands could fit in, I then sealed the hands off by the wrists with clay (should have used an oil based Plasticine!) I poured the aliginate in but I don't think there was enough room on the bottom and top as I had to fix and patch up the top. The cast actually came out OK, there were just air bubbles around the bottom as the I left the alginate very runny which was also not such a great idea but I know where I went wrong with the first one and If i try again it probably will work but when I cast it started leaking out of the sealed sides and I could not cast properly (which probably caused air bubbles). There were also air bubbles on surface of skin which I am assuming was due to the cold temp of water on top of body temp?
The second time i tried the alginate set too fast (tried new one) and then it made separate layers and when I cast it was a complete messy disaster!!!
I really need to get this done. Is there any other way of doing it? I am frustrated!!! Have to get it right!!!
Thanks for your help
