								Hi all.

I've not posted for a while, but have been following and reading from a-far.

I've just taken on a comission for my first pregnancy belly cast. My customer knows its my first cast (which is a relief to me) as i'm a little nervous o say the least! I have however been casting for 2 years, and have done a coule of faces, and a male torso, plu the usual hundreds of baby / child hand & foot casts.

My model wants her belly, plus her hand & her partners hand on it, and her breasts too.

I've got lads of Questions to ask, so here goes:

I'm Uk based and currently use Cyba-Tech alginate for my casts as it sets nice and quick, at a reasnoble temperature. But what Alginate should i use for this cast ? I guess about 5-8 min set time? What brands etc ?

Advice on the technique please: Spread the Alginate on, (what about deforming soft tissue, such as the breasts ?) and then when its still wet apply some cheese cloth / bandages to form the shell.... Right ?

How thick does the Alginate need to be 20mm ? and the plaster shell ? 5mm ?

Once i cast it then what do i do so mould it... slosh the plaster around, and then once i have a thin crust apply bandage etc to re-enforce it ?

Any tips fo mounting ?

Any other advice i should know about when doing a 'bump' ?

I'm Kinda Hoping that Ed, CJ Munn etc may respond to my post as i've been admiring your work for a couple of years :-)

Thanks for any advice.

If anyone wants to get me directly please drop me a line on my UK mobile +44 (0) 7810517719

Thanks, Adi
