Topic Subject : Alginate woes |
|
Am I the only one who finds alginate an unreliable molding material? I've done many successful casts with it. But it seems it sometimes behaves as it wishes, with the same mixing method and parts per water as before, it cranks out a mold that slips under the cotton or takes longer than the 8 minutes working time quoted, thereby allowing other problems to occur that I can't even see till I remove the mold. Perhaps I'm just venting. But several molds and paid models have gone out the window....
