Topic Subject : Re: Re: Re: Mounting plaster castings on Canvas?

Hey Vanessa. I have been mounting plaster casts to plywood for years. The thumbnail of the angel you see here is mine and has a plywood backing, so I could easily attach the wings. I trace the cast out on plywood so I can cut it to fit perfectly, then I fill the void between the cast and the plywood with "Great Stuff" wall-insulation. This is an expanding foam that bonds to everything, and you can pick up a can at any Home Depot or Lowes.
Be sure to keep a weight on the cast to keep it in place, remembering the foam will expand to twice its size. After a day, I trim of the excess from the size and fill in the gaps with with plaster or Spackle.
Hope this helps.
