Topic Subject : Re: Re: UK supplier slate/granit bases

I am NOT in the UK but this may be helpful..
Down my street is a stone countertops company, with the beautiful
stone and the huge saws and polishers. They will turn scraps into
bases and drill holes where needed. If England is like us, most
shops have time to do little jobs. But they have to get paid enough
to make it worth writing an invoice! Make sure you're charging enough
for the actual art!
Slate, here, is sometimes a garden supply item. I have a broken slate
pool-table slab and could cut it with a diamond saw if I needed to.
