Ann,
I just recently wrote the first part of a series of articles in Sculpture Journal that might help. It is using a new process to give you the look and feel of real stone-partially because it does contain real stone. It gives you not only the option of using just about any material you want , but to be able to create a shape and mold that suits your purpose without having to pay a stone cutter to cut and grind it to shape.
