Thanks for your post. I use alginate from Notcuts (I live in Surrey and they are just a mile away from me)and they assure me it is the same one that Tiranti sells and it's cheaper too! I can give you directions if you would like. I don't know if they deliver. They are in Ripley near Guildford just of the M25/A3

I will read the article that you mentioned about the quality of water as it is very hard in my area. Thanks for that tip
So.....I cast the lifecast and was presently surprised how well it came out. There were a lot of lines in it from the repaired alginate but overall it's not too bad. I shall do some work on it and then a rubber mould. Once it is cast in bronze resin the patination should cover any marks still left. Once it is finished I will post a photo.
