Topic Subject : Re: Re: Casting many hands

Nice it just takes a bit of thought and the fun part is taking the alginate out of the crevices
then moulding with silicone that the next brain teaser ,and the filling
0f the final cast

------------Silica-Free & Oh So GREEN------->

NEW! MoldGel SILFREE. A revolutionary formula.
Made with all food-grade ingredients. It nourishes
the earth when discarded. 3-to-1 mix ratio yields
twice the volume as those 1-to-1 brands. Delayed
shrinkage for delayed casting - so creamy smooth, too.

Re: Casting many hands:--
I once did a great “family of hands cast”. The father was only 35 and dieing of pancreatic cancer. I posed his hands side-by-side forming cup, as if offering whatever he had left. The wife’s hands cradled his, offering support, and each of their 3 children, held onto Dad. I simply poured alginate over the group as one and when set, I wrapped it with plaster gauze. One-by-one I had the children and then parents remove their hands. I covered over the cut-lines at the wrists, leaving only 2 open to pour plaster into the mold. The trickiest part was simply removing all of the alginate from all of the crevices, but it turned out beautifully with the impression on Mom’s bracelet reading: “Hope-Faith-Love”.
