I MUST concur with Dave on the assistant situation--I have a model that drove 6 hours to come here and do a sitting for me. Although we talked on the phone, emailed, texted and are feeling like great friends--I have a hard and fast rule that I will NEVER be alone with a woman subject while doing a casting. As it says in the Word :e from all appearance of evil (1 Thessalonians 5:22) That is simply to protect you and the model. As Dave eluded to, All it would take is one person to accuse and your reputation would be destroyed.
Not only that, but an assistant is great to have, not only for the process, but for conversation and to help the model feel more at ease. I do this without question anymore--its just standard practice to have someone there, especially if you are a male and have a female model.
I also have a model release form that I get signed by the model in order to make sure that they never come back to me and want compensation for anything other than our original agreement.
On another note, I have just started using the Polytech Platsil gel10 product and it is fantastic!. It is skin safe, cures quickly , makes a very durable mold, it is just an all around type of material. I will continue to use it for sure.
Happy castin all!!!!
