Topic Subject : ALI Promotion and Membership |
|
I agree with Joe that sites that promote life casting awareness to the public helps all life casting artists. Life casters who have websites increase their search position by increasing the number of links to their own site.
That said Mr. Week’s ALI membership has been suspended as he has failed to include the ALI logo as a condition of membership on his website. He has used ALI to feed his site and has not reciprocated by promoting the ALI organization. Though there is a link to ALI several pages down in the site on the links page with a number of links to life casting artists there is no ALI logo.
When the ALI logo and link to ALI is placed on the home page he will be reinstated. To other members as a reminder this is a condition of continued membership.
To Dan, all organizations have difficulty satisfying the desires of every member; the membership policy of ALI is an open one. That is because ALI seeks to build life casting awareness. Therefore, it will attract curiosity seekers as well as serious artists. This of course diminishes exclusivity. But that is the price paid for the ALI goal of promotion.
The organization has come a long way in 11 years. I want to personally thank Dan for his contributions. He speaks his mind and very often truths are uttered that others only think. Dan has shaped policy in incremental ways over the years and has made our organization better for it. Of course by thanking Dan individually I don't want to leave out our other active members who have made recommendations and voiced support as well as concerns. But if I had to count I have heard from Dan more often than anyother member.
Warmest regards,
